Traveling with Pets

Pets and travel make for odd bedfellows.  This has always been the case, even with pets who seem to have been born for the open road.  Whenever you know you will be traveling with your pets, there are certain considerations every responsible pet owner must think about.  The safety and comfort of the pet are two of these.  It just isn’t a matter of throwing your two dogs into the back seat together and hitting the highway.  Just like with toddlers, there could be dangerous fights.  Or your dogs could crawl underneath the car seats and emerge between your feet and the pedals, which would definitely not be good.  More and more people take their pets on airlines these days, too.  Crating your pet for air travel is something you need to plan for carefully, since pets can experience anxiety about flight just as humans can.
