I have come to really love the Weimaraner breed of dogs.I don’t know if many know that they are known as the great grey ghost. They love to be with their human at all times . They are very protective and loyal . They are also high energy and need lots of land to run on . If they don’t get a good run in they will find their own entertainment which is destructive . I have a foster weim Sarah Jane who has decided that she likes stuffed animals.When she came to live with me she came from a hoarder who had way too many animals to spend time with her . I had her in the house for a few hours when she found an old Pooh Bear stuffed animal that she decided was her baby. It is funny to watch her since she will go for the throat, and fling him around as if she killing her prey.
Then not more than two minutes later she will be gumming is butt and loving on him . She has also found a huge bear that sell for Valentine’s Day. The bear is bigger than she is . It is funny to watch her pick it up and fling it around like an animal she is trying to kill . This stuffed animal though she has ripped open the neck and chewed the eyes out . I haven’t figured out how she decides what toys she will chew the eyes out of and the ones she lets keep their eyes . She has gotten several different toys since coming to live with me . It seems to me she has her favorites . If she gets scolded for doing something that she shouldn’t.
She will go and pick up her Pooh Bear and fling him around violently . She will throw him up in the air and kick him . Then less than two minutes later she is loving on him again . I think that is the only way she knows how to let out her aggression . She also loves to go out hunting on the farm . You just never know what she will bring you back from her hunting trips . It seems that turtles are her favorite treat to catch and eat. She will bring them back to show them off proud as a peacock .
Then the next thing you know there she is crunching through the hard outer shell and eating the turtle shell and all . She has also brought birds and bunnies but turtles are her favorite . I often wonder what makes her think that turtles are tasty treats ? Every time now that spring has come she heads out turtle hunting . I wonder if the neighbors wonder what happened to all the turtles that used to be in the creek here. Does anyone else have a dog that likes to hunt for unusual things?
